Vaccine Science
Submitted by christopher on Tue, 03/23/2010
I just finished an excellent science podcast - one hour discussing the science of vaccines on Dr. Kiki's science hour. I have been a fan of hers for years, but this episode was particularly fascinating. She interviews Dr. Greg Poland, Director, Vaccine Research Group at the Mayo Clinic.
I didn't expect to be so interested, but they did an excellent job of explaining vaccines and debunking a lot of the hype around them, in a very calm, scientific manner. I especially recommend this for my friends who are making important vaccination decisions for their children.

Vaccines and Autism
Yes, much hoopla about vaccines. Here's a nice blog post from an anti-pseudoscientist about several court rulings against 3 parents suing that the MMR vaccine caused autism in their children: http://genome.fieldofscience.com/2010/03/vaccine-court-ruling-thimerosal...
Good article
The article mentions the special vaccine court - I had no idea it existed until I listened to the podcast. They explain how the court was set up and how it functions.
